Looking for a special item to add to your collection, or a unique accent to spruce up your space? Well this hand painted Sowa & Reiser etching is just the thing. Combing a touch of nostalgia with true artistry, this eye-catching print is part of a limited series of 500, and lets you show off your favorite cartoon character in sophisticated style.

This collector's item was made and manufactured in Aalen, Germany. Using a steel engraving needle, the artist first scratches the image into a varnish-covered zinc or copper plate, which is then placed into an acid bath to create the desired depth. The image is then printed onto Sowa & Reiser's handmade etching paper using a hand-driven printing press.

Once dry, each print is individually hand painted with vibrant watercolors that make the image really pop. Every piece is hand numbered and comes complete with a Certificate of Authenticity directly from Sowa & Reiser.

Is it the actual image the is 7" x 7" or the entire square of paper, making the image perhaps less than half that size?

The entire paper (the square) is 7” x 7” in size. The image in the middle is about 2.5” x 2.5” in size.

Is the etching installed in the frame that is shown or do you have to insert the art work yourself by hand?

It comes professionally custom framed already so you don't have to insert anything. It arrives as a complete product immediately ready to hang on your wall, the day it arrives on your doorstep.
