Product Description

Being offered today is a 1935 “D” Series $1 Dollar Silver Certificate is in Choice Uncirculated (CU) condition. This note is the “NARROW” version of this series as compared to the “WIDE” series. The way you can tell if the note is narrow or wide is by looking at the space below the “ONE DOLLAR” at the bottom of the note. The Narrow has a smaller gap between the “ONE DOLLAR” as compared to the “WIDE”. I will also be offering a “WIDE” note in another sale as well. So, you can buy a matching pair. These two notes are among the key dates in this series.
It looks like it was just printed yesterday.

The color just pops off the note. The margins are centered very well, and the ink just pops off the note. The colors are bright and bold. The vibrant colors and well-preserved paper add to its visual eye appeal.
The note has fantastic eye appeal. The note shows no sign of wear on the corners or the sides. All of the corners and edges of the note are crisp and clean. There are no pinholes, rips, stains, or tears.

The note will be encased in a long-term preservation holder, ensuring its protection, and providing a clear view of both sides. The intricate details of the design, including the finely engraved vignettes and intricate patterns, remain crisp and sharp. The holder is made to enhance the presentation of the encapsulated note and protects against counterfeiting and tampering.

The 1935 $1 dollar Silver Certificate has 9 different notes in the series. They start at 1935 and then go from 1935A to 1935H. The reason for the different types of notes is that when the “Treasurer of the United States” or the “Secretary of the Treasury” changes, by law they must print notes bearing their name. That is how the “A” through “H” series works, or any other dated currency with multiple lettering in the series. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing or BEP will print millions of “backs” of notes for a series. Then print a set number of “fronts” of the notes as needed for the series with the correct Treasurer of The United States or Secretary of The Treasury. You can locate their signatures on the bottom left side and bottom right side of the front of the note. The signatures on these notes are Clark on the left and Snyder on the right. A lot of collectors will collect the entire series in a designated note, which adds to the fun of collecting currency as there are many options.
