I am also selling the 1963 $ 2 Legal Tender in a different listing. So, you can buy the complete series in one sale!

The 1963 $2 dollar Legal Tender has 2 different notes in the series. They start in 1963 and then go from 1953 to 1963 “A”. The reason for the different types of notes is that when the “Treasurer of the United States” or the “Secretary of the Treasury” changes, by law they must print notes bearing their name. That is how the series works, or any other dated currency with multiple lettering in the series. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing or BEP will print hundreds of millions of “backs” of notes for a series. Then print a set number of “fronts” of the notes as needed for the series with the correct Treasurer of The United States or Secretary of The Treasury. You can locate their signatures on the bottom left side and bottom right side of the front of the note. A lot of collectors will collect the entire series in a designated note, which adds to the fun of collecting currency as there are many options.
