A nice Roman bronze knee brooch (toga pin), c. 2nd Century AD, found at Timisoara (Temesvar). A beautiful example, the arched body adorned with incised geometric decoration, the original pin and catch well preserved. 2.9 x 2.7 cm. Nicely patinated. Ex Pitt-Rivers Museum, Dorset, acquired in the late 19th Century; Ex Christie's London, Dec. 1990; Ex Royal Athena Gallery, New York.

Accompanied by a hand-signed certificate of authenticity which includes all the details, culture, dating, motifs/inscriptions when applicable, historical relevance, and provenance.

Is it too delicate to use?

This is such a cool fibula. Just a gorgeous little example. It's pretty delicate but the pin does move still and has some spring, but doesn't sit snugly in the catch plate anymore.
