Rare Islamic Mystic’s Ring // c. 10th Century AD
Product Description
An incredibly rare Islamic bronze sorcerer’s / mystic’s ring engraved with the Magic Square, circa 10th Century AD. The flat, rectangular bezel is engraved with nine blocks of mystic symbols in three rows within a floral motif; further mystic symbology to either side of the band below the bezel. A stout and heavy ring, it is still wearable, however wear with care… Islamic mysticism dictates formulas such as these endowed the wearer with the ability to communicate with Djinn, Efreets and other benign (and not so benign) spirits. Extremely rare in such perfect condition. A tiny chip on the bezel, otherwise, as made and engraved. Measures 1”L x 0.75”W x 0.8125”H. Ring size about US size 10.
